Acupuncture is the art of the inserting extremely thin needles at strategic points on your body, called "acupoints." Traditionally, acupuncture is seen as an energetic practice, and stimulating the acupoints promotes a smooth flow of energy (known as 气 or qi ) throughout the body. From a modern perspective, acupuncture is believed to stimulate nerves, muscles, and connective tissue, increase blood flow, and trigger the release of natural painkillers. Since acupuncture works by triggering the body's innate healing mechanisms, it can be used for many different conditions. These include upper neck and shoulder pain, migraines, sciatica, fertility challenges, stress, and insomnia.
Reflexology is therapeutic foot massage based on the premise that there are areas on the feet, called reflex zones, which correspond to organs
and glands in the body. Massaging these reflex zones helps the corresponding organs and glands to function better. Reflexology is used to enhance health and to help the body heal itself from health
challenges. Reflexology also calms down the sympathetic nervous system, enabling relaxation. A relaxed body can function better. Reflexology can greatly reduce stress.
The massage itself eases tension and increases blood circulation and nerve conduction in the feet. This makes reflexology very therapeutic in easing foot pain such as neuropathy, plantar fasciitis, sprains and swelling in the feet.
Reiki is a gentle, hands-on healing modality that helps to restore well-being by detecting and correcting imbalances in the body’s energy field that are thought to be responsible for physical and/or emotional states of “dis-ease.” Reiki balances your life force energy. Individuals who had been experiencing pain in their bodies typically feel significantly less discomfort immediately following the session, and usually for a long time afterwards as well. These extraordinary sessions can also be powerful catalysts for personal growth, even assisting the recipient to acknowledge and overcome emotional issues that produced longstanding physical discomfort and resulting in new self-awareness and serenity.
Therapeutic Massage is the manipulation of the body’s soft tissues (skin, muscles, tendons, and fascia) to promote health and well-being. Research shows that massage supports the healing process by increasing circulation, relieves muscle tension by decreasing muscle reflex activity, and induces relaxation by calming the nervous system. Massage has been shown to be beneficial for many health issues including low back pain, sore muscles, arthritis, high blood pressure, anxiety and depression. Regular massage can improve the body’s ability to remain flexible, to recover from injury more quickly and completely, and to relax on its own.
